Emeli Sande is a signed artist with a nice audience. Unlike other soul artists she mixes her vocals with dubstep. She has been classified into the 'trip hop' genre. she has recently just come out and into the charts with her latest single 'Heaven'. She is signed to Virgin. She first became known when she was featured singing in Chipmunks 'Diamond Rings'. Even though that was a mainstream pop song, her genre is hip-hop with dubstep/dance music. Emeli, like others has had her own YouTube account where her label have posted her Music videos and interviews (web 2.0). This is a great and popular way to promote your material to the world and gain a fanbase. Not many people have heard of Emeli Sande until she released her single 'Heaven' as she is not mainstream, she is the opposite, Niche. She made her self noticable to labels by setting up gigs herself and being independant with her music. She also opted for adverts on youtube when looking at chipmunk videos or other artists who are associated with Virgin label. This would be a suitable idea to help me promote my album.
